MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN BELGIUM - NY, and WEIRS (WALLONIA)
Going THROUGH THE MEGALITHIC SITES and MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN BELGIUM
LES PLUS BEAUX VILLAGES DE WALLONIE
I came to consider this title called 'Les Plus beaux towns de Wallonie' which connotes 'The very beautiful towns of Wallonia'. There are 30 such towns in the whole of Wallonia and an enormous segment of these towns are in the district of Pays de Famenne. Obviously, I really expected a few of those. There are 3 to some degree close to Durbuy hence, when I organized my Durbuy Itinerary, I set aside an optimal chance to visit NY and Wéris, 2 of the notwithstanding beaux towns de Wallonie (the one we missed was Chardeneux)!
The subsequent I went on a versatile visit through Durbuy city, I comprehended why Wallonia thought about this thought - to ensure the towns as they are, with their genuine and normal greatness without commercializing it much, without letting various lodgings or bistros open up inside its lines.
LES MEGALITHES - PAYS DE FAMENNE À VÉLO (CYCLING IN BELGIUM)
So what is Pays de Famenne? Pays de Famenne is the locale that sets up the 6 areas that structure the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG) of Famenne Ardennes. Surely, it is the very Geopark that joins Grottes de Han, Rochefort, etc
Les Megaliths is a 22.7km long, circle cycling course in this UGGP of Pays de Famenne which contacts all of the critical Megalithic objections of the space. It goes through Wéris, NY, and almost contacts Hotton. In any case, we didn't follow this unequivocal circle, we sorted out some way to visit most of the spots on this course.

WÉRIS - MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN BELGIUM
Wéris is presently closer to my heart than most other Belgian protests. Why? It's a pre-striking site stacked up with a couple of burial chambers! Wéris is the best-secured Megalithic site in Wallonia. Wéris is a little town, and perhaps the most superb town in Belgium. Wéris town has 8 streets in it. The most critical of the spots to see in Wéris is the monstrous exhibition.
One of the striking places of interest of the Weirs town is the romanesque church of Saint Walburga. It follows right back to 11th C CE. Notwithstanding it has changed as time goes on, the square apex is the most settled piece of the design. There are a couple of tombstones and wooden figures here, with the most prepared one following right back to the sixteenth C CE of Sainte-Walburge.
Only nearby the display is a superb, certifiable timber diagram house. There are a couple of old stone houses in the town that worked in 17-nineteenth C CE. The presence of Poudingue rock is moreover one of the uniqueness of the town of Wéris. This stone, which contained rocks bound together by a strong ordinary cement, was used to foster constructions previously and that is what we find in most of the old stone designs today, including the assembly.
LA MAISON DES MEGALITHES, WÉRIS
Stone landmark's verifiable focus in Wéris is called La Maison des Megaliths. It gives a respectable layout of huge history including geology, topography, human sciences, and that is just a hint of something larger. There is similar information into the lifestyle of the antiquated people incl. how should they have lived? what may they have worn? how should they have constructed the burial places and anything is possible from that point! There is a little film about archeological assessments moreover. The authentic focus moreover has a delightful little bistro superb as a visit coming while simultaneously riding your bicycle!

Enormous DOLMENS and MENHIRS OF WÉRIS
Burial places are massive internment places. They for the most part a few vertical situated stones and a level stone over them, that outlines the capstone. As a rule, looking like a little room. The burial chambers were presumably used as social occasion internment regions. Unlike Dolmens, Menhirs are single or a social event of tall stones, that could remind a column. The justification Menhir is at this point hazy. This locale has 2 burial chambers and 27 menhirs.
My first stop in a long time Megalithes course was the Dolmen of Wéris. The burial place of Wéris is discovered incredibly close to the town of Wéris, which is the explanation a considerable number of individuals who visit the town, don't miss this burial place. The Dolmen of Weirs is followed right back to 2000-1800 BCE (Neolithic Era to Gallo Romain Era). It has 4 vertical stones and 2 cap-stones molding 1 chamber. There a few Menhirs basically before it.
I wound up seeing conceivably the most extraordinary things here. A lady was playing out a kind of appeal here walking around the Dolmen! I haven't the foggiest where she is from, be that as it may being an Indian, I could relate to what she was doing. The demonstration of conjuring the antecedents or requesting of the ancestors is incredibly ordinary in India and I infer I was seeing an especially like practice directly in Europe, introduced in the local custom here. It was an incredibly charming second. Eventually for me, as a significant part of my common perusers would know, old objections of human activity are incredibly close to me since I by and large imagine my own forerunners walking around those very spots doing their regular activities. Watch her in the video underneath (only 1 min long)... If anyone knows what her character is and what she is all things considered doing, let me know!

My ensuing stop was Menhir Danthine, which is a singular stone and is discovered just on the guideline road of N841. My third stop was Dolmen d'Oppagne. Rather than Dolmen of Wéris, there was absolutely nobody here! We had the entire spot for ourselves and I sorted out some way to go inside the burial chamber here which was a huge astonishing experience. This has an extensively more staggering advancement than Dolmen of Wéris. This follows right back to 2200-2000 BCE (Neolithic Era). Near both the burial chambers a couple of bones and stoneware shards have been uncovered. There are 4 menhirs only close to the burial place of Oppagne. My last stop for the day was Menhir d'Oppagne. Menhir stoppage is arranged in created farmland and can be spotted from the street. I didn't move toward the Menhir, notwithstanding ended in the city and two or three photos preceding rushing toward Durbuy.

Coordinated visits through these Megalithic objections: The Maison des Megaliths offers a grouping of coordinated visits whose costs change from €40 - €100 and they connected from 30 mins to 2:30 hours. I would really propose the 2 hours visit (€80) of "The gigantic site: commented walk around the burial places of Wéris and Oppagne" or 1-hour visit (€60) to "The stones of legends: commented walk passing by Pierre Haina and Satan's bed: legends, archaeo-stargazing, examining of the scene". These can be saved by sending them a message.
NY - MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN BELGIUM
It is essentially clear and magnificent and from a genuine perspective, there's nothing more to say about it! It's a typical intriguing little Walloon town! It is on the way from Durbuy to Hotton. There are in reality just 7 streets around here of which one is the essential, central street. The entire town is between 2 streams - Naive and Doucet. It is believe it or not more unassuming and quieter than Wéris!
I was mesmerized the subsequent we entered inside the town - the wire on (electric line?), was stacked up with swallows! The last time I had seen such endless swallows together was in Eupen's Wesertalsperre Dam! As I showed up at the point of convergence of the town, I was especially in the focal point of maybe the most superb towns in Belgium. The stone houses are such greatness with one that returns as old as 1761, made of stone, complete with a traditional bent, semi-circle windows under the second story room! Simply near it is a standard wood diagram house. Some have a standard well or hand siphon as well. There's the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption at the center!
One of the striking features of Ny is its Castle - Chateau de Ferme (Farm Chateau). Amusingly the Chateau didn't fill any insurance needs. This was inborn 1669 CE by François de Cassal, leader of Durbuy, and his life partner Charlotte de Gozée. There may have been a channel here previously, yet there's none now. It has a couple of sheds and corrals, a tremendous creature-dwelling place. By and by, the Chateau is accessible to visitors just once each year when the Medieval Festival happens here.
Another striking component of Ny is its wellsprings. There are not actually positive or negative various wellsprings inside these 7 streets! The water of by far most of the wellsprings here isn't drinkable (ought to be filtered/gurgled). Finally, the little, twisting way that goes from the Chateau de Ferme to Hotton isn't actually fortunate or unfortunate delightful, that I can't put in words. Watch the video (simply 1:30 mins long)!
