BOKRIJK OPEN-AIR MUSEUM and CYCLING THROUGH WATER (FLANDERS - BELGIUM)

ONE OF THE TOP PLACES TO VISIT IN LIMBURG and BEST PLACES FOR CYCLING IN BELGIUM

I've been to Grotte de Han and Pairi Daiza and both are accessible by Discovery Combi (earlier B-Excursions) of Belgian Railways SNCB. So I started to look for the rest of the spots that can be visited by this decision and the accompanying week's end I was at Bokrijk. This is one of the most incredible excursions from Antwerp or Brussels by train.

DOMAINE/DOMEIN IN BELGIUM

Like Domaine des Grotte de Han and Domaine Chateau de la Hulpe, this additionally is a Domaine! I found out about 'Domaine' in Belgium (I'm unsure what somewhere else in Europe this thought exists)! It's an enormous green district with various nature-related exercises and sees, for the most part with a royal residence/estate in the center!

BOKRIJK OPEN-AIR MUSEUM (OPENLUCHTMUSEUM)

Since we passed using the train, we were closer to the section near Open Air Museum. This is a fascinating spot. This is the more noteworthy and Belgian type of Chennai's Dakshinachitra! There are 120 constructions here, that depict how Flanders was, a long time! These are not as of late made to depict old, but these are truly old constructions, taken out from their remarkable regions and brought here and set up here. Every design has a board that tells the information of when and where was it at first built and what was it used for!

Indisputably the main house we unintentionally found had chickens, pigs to say the least! Atyudarini was by then super-invigorated! For sure, the houses are essentially utilitarian. While no individuals 'live' inside those houses, the stable is particularly being utilized! Further ahead another house had ponies, one more had a gathering of a couple of pigs and cows... Anyway, people aren't dwelling here, the staff is dressed to arrange family characters of many years earlier! There were numerous asylums and pigeon towers as well.

Standard DUTCH (FLEMISH) WINDMILLS

A piece of the incredibly intriguing, enrapturing ones fuses the windmill. This is the absolute first time I saw a windmill from the inside and besides got to see how it functioned and tended to some certifiable factory administrators. See the vertical stuff in the third pic above? That is the one related to the wings outside and it turns when the wings turn and that accordingly gets the even stuff moving which can be related to the devastating wheels on the sides in the lower floor, as in the second pic above!

It wasn't too blustery that day and the plant wasn't running effectively and the milliners were endeavoring to turn the wings toward the wind...... Did you understand that the housetop and wings of the ordinary windmills could be gone to stand up to the breeze? Without a doubt, neither did I!!!!! Neighborhood factory administrators from wherever this area, substitute to come here to work it, so visitors can truly experience it! Standard handling to make flour is a prospering business in the whole of Flanders to date!!!!!

Another extremely captivating one was the watermill! This is at present under-recovery. There are a couple of lodges, houses, pens, brushing areas, water bodies and that is only the start! The whole Open Air Museum is in 4 portions - Sixties, East and West Flanders, Kempen, and Haspengouw.

The Sixties is where structures, rooms, things are, as they were during the 60s is frozen on time - a hair parlor, a petrol bunk, a film theater, a corner shop and that is only the start! Close to this is the best spot for pre-youths and young people - a movement of challenge courses, all made of wood and ropes.

A walk around prompts the theater where at present a sensation is at this point played for the World of Bruegel, depicting one of his imaginative manifestations - The Battle among Carnival and Lent. The spot moreover has studios, games and 'courses' for young people and youngsters to make the visit considerably more interesting for them. At present, the Bruegel game is on for pre-teenagers. For sure, even regardless regularly, studios on making bread, stoneware, dealing with downy, cowhide and wood, etc, happen for pre-teens to young people, that gives a framework of how things were done a long time before complete mechanization of everything happened!

Pushing THROUGH WATER - CYCLING IN LIMBURG, BELGIUM

One of the most fascinating things here in the whole domain is the 'turning through the water' understanding. This doesn't anticipate that you should buy a ticket! Simply the Open Air Museum is labeled, the rest of the Domaine is in vain to get to, appreciate and explore!!! 'Pushing through the water' is a water body that has been separated at the center and there's a cycle-fit pathway between them. There is water till the edge that is essentially 5ft tall on either side! You're 5ft under the water level on dry ground! Amazingly, they pulled off this turn of events!!! You 'truly need' not cycle, you could essentially walk around also.

BOKRIJK KIDS PLAYGROUND

There is a huuuuuuge wilderness exercise center! In other words, it's so huge! In other words, I haven't seen a wilderness exercise center of that size! No, it's everything except an occasion gathering, it's a standard outdoors wilderness rec center. Regardless, it's so damn enormous with submitted districts for different age groups with different kinds of set-ups! There is even a serious district for in a surprising manner abled youths. We didn't contribute a ton of energy here as it was almost evening when we showed up at the wilderness rec center district. Btw, this additionally is in vain!

WHERE TO EAT IN BOKRIJK? Diners IN BOKRIJK

There are numerous decisions for lunch. Without a doubt, you can pack your own and do a trip here! There are very few bistros here and we ate at Bistro Koethuis which is closer to Parking 1. The setup was sensational, with outside seating similarly to indoor. Since it was to some degree sprinkling, we sat inside. The in-house craft beer Wildeman is an outright need endeavor. Amazingly the veggie lover decisions were not especially yummy. The whole of inner parts gives off an impression of resembling the Open-Air Museum, made of old squares, regularly fallen trees, etc

Excursion FROM ANTWERP OR BRUSSELS WITH KIDS

Genuinely, the spot is huge, huge to the point that an excursion isn't adequate. All that we did was to see the significant larger part: (not 'all' of) Open-Air Museum, observed piece of the Bruegel sensational play, eaten and Cycled through the water! We didn't get to see a piece of the Open-Air Museum, Castle, wreck around or studios or put energy in the wilderness exercise center, in one day...... It is tremendous!

P.S: I expected to visit Hasselt the past summer! Reason - Hasselt has Belgium's Lavender Fields! I couldn't and I was prepared to visit this pre-summer! Anyway by then, somehow most of the closures of the week this mid-year wound up being turbulent! So no, I haven't seen the Limburg Lavendel yet! On the off chance that you're visiting in June-July don't miss the Lavender fields too! (Update Oct 2020: I visited! Snap the association above to look into that).

Guidelines to REACH BOKRIJK

On Google Maps: Bokrijk Entrance 1 (info center, halting 1, bike rental), Bokrijk Entrance 2 (come closer from rail course station), Cycling through water, Bistro Koetshuis

Trains are available reliably from Brussels Midi/Central/Nord to Bokrijk directly and the journey time is around 1:45hrs.

Close to the Bokrijk Railway station is Entrance 2 (near Parking 2/Poorthuys restaurant) that directly prompts the Open-Air Museum.

Walk around Parking 1 for the info center, wilderness rec center, studios, bike rental, etc This is around 2km from the railroad station.

If you at this point have a bike or choose to walk, the 'Cycling across the water' is aside from Entrance 2 at a 1.7km distance.

HASSELT/GENK HOTELS

Hasselt motels are available in all worth concentrations and all critical housing networks have a branch here including Radisson Blu Hotel Hasselt, Park Inn by Radisson Hasselt, Holiday Inn Express Hasselt and that is only the start. A piece of the exceptional motels here are from a local housing network called Different Hotels including Yup Hotel, Carbon Hotel, Hotel Ecu, etc Since I've commonly visited Hasselt on travels from Brussels, I don't have a singular inclusion with any.

In any case by Bokrijk, the Discovery Combi (B-Excursion) ticket should be printed out, unlike various spots. Of course, Discovery Combi (B-Excursion) tickets could be bought at the train ticket counter as well!

P.S: I was invited by Bokrijk and B-Excursion by Belgian Rail to experience the locale for study purposes, however, the evaluations are my own and this post doesn't advance the thing/organization.
